It's so nice to have a leisurely weekend, to do whatever i please... aaaahhh!!
Having said that, i'm going to be pretty busy doing what i love doing BEST.... hand quilting.
i've got three small quilts on the go, two are partially quilted... the third is basted and ready.
Number one...
is...
the Shoo-Fly Doll Quilt (The Civil War Sewing Circle by Kathleen Tracy)
which i had planned to make for my Izannah doll... she's been waiting patiently for her own little quilt to snuggle up with... and i thought this one would be perfect. However, it's turned out to be much bigger than i had intended. On reflection, i should have made it half the size, but not to worry, i can always make her a smaller one later.
Number two...
is...
Civil War Scraps Doll Quilt (CW Sewing Circle) which was Kathy's choice for this month's SQ challenge...
i'm more than halfway through quilting this little cutie and i'm quietly confident i will get it finished by the end of this month.
Number 3...
is...
the 'Orphans & Scraps' mystery sew-along blocks which i finished two weeks ago., and i've been mulling over what to do with them.
Pam turned her four blocks into a sweet little runner, but i knew i wanted to do something, a little different.
so.. after playing around with various layouts... i thought why not put a frame around each block?? yep, i liked that idea...
next... i set them on point...
yep.. i was finally happy with how it was all coming together.
how sweet is that background fabric?? ~History Repeated~ 1870-1890 by Windham.
Now, all that was needed was to decide upon the border... will i or won't i add a border??? oh the dilemma.. you've got no idea how long it took me to decide!! Butfinally, the decision was made... a 3inch border to the top & bottom only.. i can't tell you what a relief it was!! am i the only one who mulls over these things, surely not LOL??!!

Your quilts a fabulous. I love them all.

Wow! What beautiful projects you've made Marian! Each of the is gorgeous - I especially like the way you set the blocks from Pam Buda's SAL - it'll be fun to see what everyone did with theirs, huh? Mine was done totally different than hers too! Thanks for all the beautiful pictures!

Three such lovely little quilts! I love that you are planning to handquilt them all :0) I think most quilters can relate to indecision delays - lol!!

All three quilts are gorgeous, but the Shoo-fly is my favourite one. And, no you are not the only one to mull over which fabric to use!
