Most of you will know what i'm talking about however, some of you may be wondering what's with the baby talk, or perhaps it's a secret code??? No, sorry to disappoint, it's nothing quite that mysterious or intriguing.. it's simply my affinity with abbreviations.. that's all.
Itty bitty bb's is my abbreviation for Itty Bitty Boys Britches... a darling little (well not so little) quilt which i'm making. It's the first quilt that caught my eye at Linda's book launch.
Best of all Linda has two sets of templates available to make these blocks ~ the large size as per the antique quilt and a smaller set (4½inch) for small quilt enthusiasts. No prizes for guessing which size blocks i'm making :))
so these are my itty bitty boys britches blocks which i made four weeks ago...
three weeks ago...
two and a half weeks ago...
one and a half week ago...
and then 'surprise, surprise' i got somewhat sidetracked by another (not so little) beauty...
which just so happens to be Linda's antique Panama Pyramid quilt. I was in awe when i laid eyes on it for the first time, at Linda's book launch.
I knew, i definitely wanted to make it.. one day!
well.. that day came sooner than i had anticipated, thanks to Linda adding me to her Panama Pyramids Sew-along 2016 FB group, two weeks ago.
With templates in hand i got to work and traced my first PP..
that wasn't too difficult... the templates are so sturdy and easy to use.
Before long i had machine pieced my very first Panama Pyramid... yay!
followed by a second PP...
then a third, fourth & sixth PP...
and lots more triangles ready and waiting to be pieced.
these pyramids were becoming addictive... it was all i could think about LOL!!!
By day three i had made twelve pyramids, and as i laid them out on the floor i was surprised & delighted by the star formation.
A few days ago, as i was ironing this stack of small triangle units.. i began to daydream about making a mini pyramid quilt... how fun!
That evening i got to work tracing and cutting 48 small triangles for the mini quilt i had in mind...
those triangles soon turned into mini pyramids..
here they are against a yummy cheddar background.
and here's the finished flimsy...
quilted, bound & washed... [8¼” x 9½“]
so happy with my mini pyramid quilt.
as of yesterday my PP count is at 30... and i've got more triangles ready to be pieced, so i better get back to it :))
